Senator Durazo Condemns Trump's Racist Video

LOS ANGELES - State Senator María Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump resharing a racist video depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes:

"Sharing a video that depicts President Obama and the First Lady as apes isn't just offensive - it's dehumanizing racism, plain and simple. And doing it during Black History Month shows exactly how little this administration values Black Americans. This is who Donald Trump is: someone who traffics in hate and division at every turn. Our communities deserve better. Our country deserves better."
