Senator Durazo’s Statement Regarding Her Committee and Leadership Appointments.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – I sincerely appreciate being appointed the chair of the Senate’s Local Government committee and to be joining Senate President pro-Tempore Mike McGuire’s Senate Democratic Leadership Team as the Assistant Majority Whip.

“As the Senator representing the City and County of Los Angeles, I have fought for tangible and meaningful efforts to uplift disadvantaged and disenfranchised communities.  I look forward to these new opportunities to serve my constituents and continue to deliver on the progress we have made over the years. Whether fighting for good jobs or ensuring that our State government works for its people, we must be united to confront the challenges of our budget shortfall, continuing homelessness crisis, and statewide infrastructure needs.”

In addition, to chairing the Local Government Committee and her Leadership appointment, Senator Durazo will be a member of the Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, the Judiciary Committee, the Labor, Public Employment and Retirement Committee, and the Budget Subcommittee #5 on Corrections, Public Safety, Judiciary, Labor, and Transportation.
